About

Hello, we are the Tatum family

L-R, Bryan, Jesse, Kirsten, Beth & Drew

Beth and Bryan Tatum and their, at that time, 11-year-old triplets, were called to the mission field in 2007. For the next year and a half, they and their children received training with The Mission Society, now TMS Global, for full time international service. At this time, they also began the fundraising process to support their work on the field. In 2009 they moved to Costa Rica to serve as full time missionaries.

The Tatum family ministry in Costa Rica is focused on Kingdom building as well as the spiritual, physical, and mental needs of the people of Costa Rica. In partnering with a local, Latino organization in Costa Rica, this goal is being accomplished by the incorporation of three primary strategies.

  1. Working and sharing the gospel inside the Costa Rican public school system,
  2. Teaching, training, and equipping the local, rural church as well as offering free and discounted medical, dental, and optical care,
  3. Feeding and sharing the gospel with the homeless and transient immigrants and their families passing through Costa Rica

Before moving to Costa Rica to serve as full time missionaries, the Tatum family has served on short term missions internationally in Costa Rica, Ghana and Peru as well as locally in the Kairos Prison Ministry.

Impact / Outcome

We have seen God bless our ministry in leaps and bounds. When we first began this journey, we had to beg churches and schools to allow us to host events and workshops. However now, we end up turning down opportunities teach, train and disciple due to a lack of funds and the desperate need of more volunteers to assist us in His harvest.

Annually, we serve, disciple, train and equip about 20 rural churches in how to be better Jesus examples in their marginalized communities, where they live, day in and day out. We also serve in approximately two dozen schools a year sharing the gospel and developing relationships with the students, teachers, and staff.

While doing this, we also give free (or at cost) medical, dental and eye care as well as assisting in feeding and clothing many of these marginalized communities.
