Costa Rica Update from Beth, Bryan and the triplets, aka the Tatum Family

We were just recently in 28 Millas in the Providence of Limon for, what we call, an Expedition Conexion Weekend.  We conduct these weekends once a month in different rural and "least of" areas of Costa Rica.  They are a combination of a reinforcement and revival for the local church along with a weekend of medical ministry.

You can watch a short video of our Expedition Conexion Weekend in 28 Millas by clicking here.

It was a truly blessed weekend in 28 Millas.  God is really working in this community.  Thank you for your prayers, partnership and support as we work with and serve the "least of these" in Costa Rica.  (Matthew 25:31-46)

Prayer Requests:
-Please pray for Ray Zirkel and his family.  Ray is a fellow missionary serving in Costa Rica and he has just been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
-Please pray for the women of Buen Pastor women's prison.  Beth is a co-leader in a Celebrate Recovery program in the prison and several women in the class have been under spiritual attack.
-Please pray for our next Expedition Conexion Weekend,  May 25th, 26th and 27th.

Information About Partnering Financially

Re-Issued Credit/Debit Cards

Several times a year, someone will contact us and mention that for some reason or another their financial contributions to the ministry are not going through and could we check on it for them.

We are always glad to assist in that request, but almost every time, it is because a partner's credit card company has re-issued a credit/debit card and The Mission Society was not notified of the new credit/debit card number.

So, if you have set up your donations to be done automatically on a monthly or quarterly basis and you noticed that your 2011 tax statement didn't reflect what you expected your annual donation to be, you might want to think about the last time your credit/debit card was re-issued.  That is probably the issue.

The Mission Society

The Mission Society is our sending agency, our partners, our counselors, our trainers, our friends and our financial accountablity.  All of our financial donations go through The Mission Society.  The Mission Society is a member of ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountablity) which gives us and our partners the assurance of financial integrity and accountablity.

To partner with us financially you may do so by:

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to our Mothers, Jayne, Gail and Sandra.  Also, Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers in our lives; our family, friends and our partners in ministry.  May you have a wonderful and blessed Mother's Day.

Below are a few of our favorite Mother's Day quotes:

-It's not easy being a mother; if it were easy, fathers would do it. -The Golden Girls

-An ounce of mother is worth a pound of clergy.  -Spanish Proverb

-My mom is a never-ending song in my heart of comfort, happiness and being.  I may sometimes forget the words but I always remember the tune.  -Graycie Harmon

-When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts.  A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.  -Sophia Loren

-Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anquish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world. -John 16:21

Jayne Yelinek Vollmer

Jayne is Beth Ann's mother who was an incredible woman.  She was very inspirational and had a huge influence in both Beth and Bryan's lives.  She instilled a servant's heart and attitude in Beth and her siblings.  Unfortunately, she never met the triplets but they hear about her often and feel as if they know her.  Jayne passed away in September of 1993.

Gail Wells Tatum

Gail is Bryan's Mother.  Gail is a wonderful mother to both Bryan and his sister, Sherry and an incredible grandmother.  She loves the Lord, music, singing and serving others.  She has never met a stranger and finds a way to form a bond with everyone she encounters.  She lives in Madison, AL with Bryan's dad, LeRoy Tatum.

Sandra White Vollmer

Sandra is Beth Ann's Stepmother.  Sandra enjoys the beach, reading, playing golf and spending time with her family.  She is a wonderful cook and always has an open door for friends and loved ones.  Her home is the gathering place for our family.  She has always had the gift of serving others behind the scenes without ever seeking credit.  Sandra lives in Huntsville, AL with Beth Ann's father, Jack Vollmer.
